SPARC Committee Meeting Minutes - June 2002

Purpose:

Summary of decisions, discussions, and action items:

1. The June meeting was very successful, with approximately 40 attendees. It was held in the Oracle office in Innsbrook.
2. The July 25th mid-summer meeting topic will be Solaris 9. Joe will work to get a speaker from Sun.
3. Quantum Resources (Sam Dalton) has expressed interest in sponsoring a meeting. Wayne will follow up with Quantum.
4. A review of the surveys passed out at the June meeting expressed high interest in Disaster Recovery. Steve will talk to his contact at the Federal Reserve and Wayne will talk to other resources within Sun and their partners. If a speaker cannot be secured, another topic of interest is Portal and Directory Services. Wayne was sure that a speaker from Sun can talk on this topic if needed.
5. Eric Sammons (Federal Reserve) expressed interest in joining the Steering Committee. Steve will follow up with Eric.
6. The schedule for the next few meetings are: 7/25 General Membership; 8/1 - Steering Committee; 9/5 - General Membership; 9/12 Steering Committee.
7. Steve will post these minutes on the web site.
