JUNE TOPIC: Sun's Software Strategy: Including Solaris, Linux, Sun ONE & Project Orion

Sun's Software Strategy:  This presentation will describe Sun's vision and direction respective to Solaris, Linux and Sun ONE (Open Network Environment).  Included in the presentation will be a review of Project Orion which is intended to reduce the complexity and costs of today's disjointed lifecycle management of software. 

These topics will have an important impact of the management of your datacenter infrastructure.  Please come to learn upfront and first hand about the future of the software you will using from Sun.

Our presenter, Jeff Nester is a senior Sun ONE Systems Engineer with over 20 years of software experience.  He began his career in the software industry working for Digital Equipment Corporation supporting products such as DEC MessageQ, DECnet and DEC Corba. In Jeff's later years with Digital, he provided consulting, technical support and sales engineering for Digital Equipment Corporation's Forte engineering team.  Jeff began working for Sun Microsystems 3 years ago supporting the Sun purchased Forte Suite of products and the Sun ONE (formerly iPlanet) software stack.

Sun Microsystems will be sponsoring the June meeting as well as providing door prizes and refreshments !

GE Financial Assurance, in the PFS Building (6630 West Broad St) on the sixth floor in the Boundaryless Room. GE Financial Assurance is located on West Broad Street in the Brookfield Office Park. After turning at the light on Broad Street and entering the Brookfield Complex, you should stay in the left lane and turn left at the stop sign. Follow the road around past the Richmond Sheraton to the 6630 building towards the back of the campus. Turn left for Visitor Parking. Additional parking is located on the far side of the building as well. Please enter at the front main entrance.
