November's Topic: Sun's Linux Strategy and the New LX50 Linux Server

Presentation:

Harry Foxwell will discuss Sun's recent Linux product and strategy announcements, including details on the Sun LX50 Server, Sun Linux, and the Enterprise Client Desktop.

Harry will answer your questions about:

• Sun's commitment to Linux
• Where Linux and Linux servers fit in the overall Sun Strategy & Product Line
• Sun's added value in the Linux market
• Where to use the Sun LX50 Linux server.

Harry Foxwell is an Area System Engineer for Sun Microsystems, responsible for solutions consulting and education on Solaris, Linux, and Java. He has worked for Sun Microsystems since 1995; prior to that he worked for 6 years as a UNIX and Internet specialist for DEC. He has worked with UNIX systems since 1979. He also maintains Sun's internal website of Linux technical information.

GE Financial Assurance, in the PFS Building (6630 West Broad St) on the sixth floor in the Boundaryless Room.

GE Financial Assurance is located on West Broad Street in the Brookfield Office Park. After turning at the light on Broad Street and entering the Brookfield Complex, you should stay in the left lane and turn left at the stop sign. Follow the road around past the Richmond Sheraton to the 6630 building towards the back of the campus. Turn left for Visitor Parking. Additional parking is located on the far side of the building as well. Please enter at the front main entrance.
